County announces schedule for issuing Kupuna Cards

The Hawaii County Department of Parks and Recreation Elderly Activities Division will distribute “Kupuna Cards” at several events this month in West Hawaii.

The cards are issued to County of Hawaii Residents 55 and older. Please bring a valid ID (drivers license, state ID, military ID, or Passport).

• Feb. 7, 11-1 p.m. at Malama Market, Honoka‘a. Info: (808) 775-7503

• Feb. 13, 10 a.m. to noon at Takata Store, Kohala. Info: (808) 889-6502

• Feb. 14, 9-11 a.m., Lily Yoshimatsu Senior Center, Waimea. Info: (808) 887-3008

• Feb. 15, 2-4 p.m., Hale Hau‘oli Senior Center, Honoka‘a. Info: (808) 775-7503

Kupuna Cards are also issued from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, at the West Hawaii Civic Center, Building B, in Kailua-Kona. Info: (808) 323-4320

West Sell earns Dean’s List honor at Lee University

Lee University recently announced Kaitlynn West Sell of Holualoa, earned Dean’s List honors during the fall 2022 semester.

Dean’s List recognition is earned by full-time, undergraduate students with a semester grade point average between 3.7 and 4.00. Lee University is a private, Christ-centered university located in Cleveland, Tennessee, in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.
